Conrad got his Driver's Licence!!

At first we weren't sure who was more excited: His parents or he, himself.

But it soon became evident that his parents were MUCH MORE excited. This will open a whole new stage for us. Our lives are completely changing. Take right now for example. Arthur and I are home and the boys are out. It's dark and minus 25 or something outside. We don't have to keep an eye on the clock to go pick them up in a few hours. We can just do our merry little activities and then go to bed. What are we doing? Arthur is actually watching TV and he gets to hold the remote and pick the channel. I actually have time on the computer. Earlier we had a candle lit meal of rice and curry. Can you see why we are excited?

So now we have 4 drivers and one car. This makes for some complicated scheduling sometimes. Earlier this week this is how the car got used.

All Day - Phyllis had the car because she had meetings outside the office
4:30 Phyllis left her office
4:50 Arrived at Arthur's office to pick him up
5:00 Left Arthur's office
5:20 Dropped Phyllis off at Millenium Library to give an evening presentation
5:45 Picked up Conrad from the Health Sciences Center where he was visiting a friend
6:15 Arrived home for supper
6:30 Erik left home for Boys Club at church
7:00 Arrived at church and parked for a while
8:30 Left church
8:45 Arrived downtown near the Millenium Library to pick up Phyllis
9:00 Arrived home for the evening

Last month I went to BC to visit my sister and parents.
I've got a photo of Dad, but I neglected to take a photo of Mom.
We were too busy sewing, baking, talking, laughing etc.

Here is Cyndy posing and making an OK sign.
I needed the OK for a gestures workshop I did the following week
and in all the picture collections I looked at, there were no "OKs".
There were lots of thumbs up, but no OKs.

Happy Birthday!
Conrad turned 17 this month and for his birthday he got a chair for his desk that he had to assemble himself. I should have also taken a picture of Arthur who supervised the whole event. He was sitting on his hands so that he wouldn't jump in to help Conrad.

The chair got put together properly and Conrad has already spent a lot of time sitting in it as he studies. (He studies a lot!)

Of course we went to Tony Roma's for dinner....

...and a few days later to Grandma and Grandpa's for cake with loads of candles!

We've been storing books for Sam's Place in our garage for the past 3 or more months. They have been renovating and needed a place to store them. We can still fit our car in the garage but it will be nice to get the books moved out and the garage to ourselves again.
Sam's Place is a used book store, cafe, and music venue located in the Elmwood neighbourhood.
For more info about Sam's Place check out their website: www.samsplacebooks.com

We hid Conrad's birthday present in plain sight by throwing the unwrapped box on top of all the other boxes in the garage. He didn't notice.

Holiday Highlights
Our nephew, Ryan, was out from Ottawa for the holidays.
The guys went skating at The Forks one afternoon.
All of the nephews lined up for a photo.

The boys managed to get in a few games of
"The Farm Game"
at various family gatherings.

We celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary by going back to the
Hotel Fort Garry for night.
Here we are at the morning brunch.
