Our Stay-cation

A few weeks ago we had a weekend stay-cation where we did some things in our city as a family. Part of the weekend was going to the Da Vinci: The Genius exhibition downtown. After we enjoyed the exhibition we returned home to eat home-cooked Italian food. We figure that Da Vinci might have also enjoyed bruschetta with home-grown tomatoes.

Another food-related outing was going for Dim Sum. We hadn't been for Dim Sum since we left Asia and so this was a real treat. It was just like being back in Asia. (One young teen at a table close-by even had a pink Hello Kitty cellphone!) We are planning to go for Dim Sum again but take more people with us so we can try even more great food.
A Day Together

We had fun being an uncle and aunt.

Washing the Rug

After owning this lovely hand-woven wool rug from Ethiopia for 21 years we decided maybe it was time to give it a washing. We chose a lovely summer day and it dried in no time. (Actually, it took 3 days. But you might consider that no time because it's really thick!)
Now we are good for another 21 years.
