July Happenings

Conrad helped the team who was working on our addition
by sawing some of the wood for the deck.

My parents came out from BC and we had lots of fun together.
The weather this summer has been great and there are almost no mosquitoes to be seen.
We spent a lot of time outside.

Montreal

Arthur and I went to Montreal for 5 days. It all started out with a work conference for me and we got the idea to go a few days early together. It turned out to be a fabulous idea.
We had a great time enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of the big city.

We went to McGill with our long time friend (MM) whom we met in Laos 9 years ago. She's working on a Master's Degree and we had great fun exploring the campus with her. Since we met her, she's spent some years in Jordan with MCC and learned Arabic. We figure we are some of the few people in the world who speak English, Lao and Arabic.

Arthur's brother and sister-in-law joined him on one of the days I was at the conference. Later, when I was off for the day, we went to the Biosphere Environment Museum and out for supper at an Ethiopian restaurant.

So what about the conference? It was good and I learned a lot. At the end of it, a graphic artist came and helped us summarize the learning that took place (below).
