Conrad receives First Class Honors (90% average, and above) along with all these other kids. You can't see him, he's behind the girl in red.

Conrad receives the Alumni Scholarship for affirming the Christian values of his school, and demonstrating a positive attitude towards school and classmates while showing excellent academic effort. He has made a positive contribution to school life and is a very deserving recipient of this scholarship.

Grad Festivities have Begun
Last Sunday at church there was a banquet for the grads of 2010.
The participants were Carolyn, Chris, Kiera and Erik.
Only Kiera wasn't part of the group when they were in Grade 1.

Erik and Arthur went to Tip Top and Erik got his first suit.
Here he is outside the changing room trying it on after it was altered.

Erik's grandparents came from BC to help him celebrate.
We went out for Somali food and really enjoyed ourselves.
It was delicious!

This is Scott, a friend who came to stay with us for about a month while his mother went to Europe. He stayed with us during the week, and on weekends he stayed with his grandmother.

It was great to have him as part of our family. He fit in so well, we hardly noticed he was around -- except when it came to meal time. He eats food in large quantities, just like Conrad, so we had to prepare even more!

For supper one night, we went to the local all-you-can-eat buffet. Arthur and I had a good time watching all 3 of our boys eat and eat. Later, one of them asked why we went there, and I had to admit it was just so that we could sit back and watch the food get put away. (Also, we didn't have to cook all that food!)

Arthur was busy on the May long weekend painting the inside and outside of the kitchen cupboards. The top part is light green and the bottom sections are a darker green. It sort of disrupted my plans of baking and cooking on the long weekend because I couldn't find anything and kept bumping into either Arthur or wet paint. However, the end result of his weekend of work is rather nice and we are both happy with how it turned out.

In the picture above, you can see that the original color of the cupboards was a sort of creamy color. They were OK that way but needed some refreshing, so we decided to add more color. The walls have stayed their original green. Below is the finished result.

Now the discussion is whether to stencil something along the top part (and if so, what design should it be) or not.
